GDI Jumpjet, Technician and Disc Thrower Infantry


Below are our updated GDI Infantry models.

Renardin and Mick are continuing work on the improvements of the GDI infantry models. Once they finish the GDI side with Xenobond’s help, they will attack the Nod side.

Here is a list of what has been done and what is coming next:

  1. Soldier : OK
  2. Disc Infantry : OK
  3. Rocket Infantry: New model and texture needed by Mick and Renardin
  4. Engineer : OK
  5. Sniper Commando : New model and texture needed by Mick and Renardin
  6. Medic : OK
  7. Bomb's Specialist : New model and texture needed by Mick and Renardin
  8. Technician : OK
  9. Ghostalker : Texture Rework by Xenobond
  10. Umagon : Texture Rework by Xenobond
  11. Jumpjet : OK
  12. Officer : New model and texture needed by Mick and Renardin
  13. Mutant Rocket Soldier : New model and texture needed by Xenobond
  14. Mutant :Texture Rework by Xenobond

Nice! My only problem with a few of the GDI soldiers is the difficulty in telling them apart sometimes- they can look a lot alike sometimes. If you could make them stand out from eachother a little bit more, that'd be nice.

So you cant tell the difference between a man with a giant Jet-pack to a man with a gaint Grenade box? on his back?

Edit: btw will we see Weapon model updates as well before you work on Nod? What happened to the AK-47 Gun? im looking at Reborns facebook page and theres a AK-47 Weapon? is there chance that weapon could be made pick up from a create or somthing?

Well GDI is an military force, where everyone should look equal. they did a good job in making them look equal as one force but each recognizable, with their gold to grey colors and backpacks.

nice job to the skins (also unwrapping part) and models

Nah those are fine, but technician will be difficult to discern from other classes, as well as a few other units. I mean it's mostly from a distance, but I feel like there could be more done to make them stand out more. Nod's units are fine, I can tell them apart easily.

The technician has the yellow/black shoulder pads and the short backpack.

Not to mention he holds a huge repair gun.

This is true, but compared to most Renegade characters, it's much harder to discern from other characters.

If you ever want to re-texture the Technician, Renardin, I suggest adding in some of that yellow and black pattern on his knee pads and maybe more on the backpack and such. Just a suggestion, of course.

He just re-textured it i dont think he will need to do that again that soon. (dont think that needs a new texture)


To the woman in bee dress picture i suddenly thought:
Mh, why not adding the option of choose between Male and female soldier? At least for the free chars and add some female voices (even with the reporting sound if you buy it)
It wouldnt make a big difference about how the character looks like you cant really see what they got under their helmet and armor but why not?
For a singleplayer mission map or Coop map it would be even a nice idea of maybe adding some GDI Troopers without the Helmet for some kind of cutscenes maybe even.
Something like you start on the Philadelphia station of GDI and you see some Soldier squads walking around without the helmet and to then got some female characters that wouldnt have a helmet walking with the squad would sure look nice.
I mean even present days you see women in the army why not to GDI times? Would be more realistic in some way even.
Or look on the GDI female pilot of C&C 1 Tiberian Dawn, there was always this female Pilot in the A-10 and the Orca Fighter later.
Got some female Pilots or Soldiers walking around in the Philadelphia wouldnt be bad along with all the other male soldiers good combination.
Maybe even some scientists in the Station and everything for a Campaign it would be perfect.

Yea i see i already make to much plans about things that need just the way to many people to finish it...

Damn and that all just because ONE picture with a woman lol.
Cant i be like every other man and just say anything like: "wow she is hot" or anything?
